Now onto the tutorial for my new office curtains. You will need a little less than twice the amount of the length of your window in fabric, three tension rods, fabric glue and an iron.
Start out by cutting your material about two inches wider than your window. Fold over the first edge and iron. The ironing is solely so you get a very crisp edge.
Next place the rod on the fabric to see how much needs to be folded over on the other side and iron.
Glue down both sides.
Now that you have both sides glued down, fold the two unfinished ends together and overlap approx. 1 inch.
Glue the two pieces together.
Next put your first tension rod in and hang at the top of the window with the unfinished seam toward the back of the window.
Place the remaining two spaced apart approx. 10 inches (May need to adjust according to the window size).
Lastly start pulling the fabric over the bottom two rods
I love how simple this project was and how nicely the butter yellow in the fabric compliments the wall color in my office. You can never go wrong with a 20min. and $15 project. I am filing this one under the success category.
Has anyone else done a quick DIY project I should try?
